Local Teenager Sets New World Record in Long Jump

16-year-old Jessica Green from Milton Keynes, UK, stunned the world by setting a new women's world record in the long jump at a competition in London this past weekend. Her leap of an impressive 7.93 meters beat the previous record by 12 centimeters, which had stood since 1988. Green, who only started athletics two years ago, admitted to being overwhelmed by her achievement. "I still can't believe it," she told reporters. "I just went out there and gave it my all." Her coach, Mr. Jones, described her as "exceptionally talented" and predicted a bright future for her in the sport. This is a significant win for Great Britain, and expectations are incredibly high for Green's participation in the 2024 Olympic Games.
